Keira's bed is presently her dresser - we have ordered one on-line - I can't wait to be able to organize and put all of her tiny clothes in drawers. Mind you - she's not so tiny anymore! Over 8 pounds! Crazy - all this feeding is definately paying off - she has a huge triple chin!! Just over 4 weeks:) This picture is of feisty Keira with her new cousin Levi Matthew Breukelman - who started off the same size as her. They are 2 weeks apart - she has grown alot in 2 weeks! The other picture further up is Kevin's Tante Anna DeJong with Keira's cousin Amy from John and Tamara Breukelman (nee DeJong). The other pictures are all with Keira's dear daddy:) Soon she will get a picture taken with mom! How can you tell who takes most of the picts? Plus she just looks so cute hanging out with her dad!
Following everybody's advice (except for the health unit) we have started supplementing Keira on formula. I challenged the health unit to give me other suggestions/options to try before starting formula - well I have exhausted all their ideas! Keira saw her 3rd doctor this week and she said that not all babies need lots of sleep. 6-8 hours a day is fine - wanting to feed all the time and not settle is totally fine too - all that matters is that she's gaining wait. I thought my milk was good b/c she was gaining so much weight - but with the amount of feeding I was doing she would gain weight drinking water! :) I was getting pretty sore and tired...so by 4 weeks we tried formula. I can feed her from myself for an hour, feed her 4 ounces from a bottle and she still wants to drink....she's not sleeping anymore than before with the formula, but she doesn't cry as much! Or at least not crying like she's dying! :) She can actually lay on my lap sometimes for ~20 minutes and just look at me. One definate positive of all of this is that she is fairly alert! We are both in love with her and she can do no wrong! We'll have to work on that, we know:)
I don't know how mom's get so much done - I hardly go to the bathroom somedays. ;) I know people say just to let her cry - but she's more persistent than we are! The other night she cried straight for an hour - she won. We're suckers - we'll have to work on that too:)
All in all - everything is going so well in this household. So many new discoveries everyday - we are blessed:) Kevin has quit smoking - with the assistance of Champex. The side effect of Champex is ... a lack of sleep. :) So we're both having a lovely time of it! But he is doing awesome - he has been able to go out and enjoy his new sled a number of times - hopefully he'll get out a lot more in the next 2-3 months to make the most of it! Needless to say he is blown away by it - with over 2" paddles he can dig himself out of anything - and the power blows him away.... that's always a good thing:) Thankfully he is careful and very aware of his limits - I have learned to trust his abilities...I don't worry near as much anymore:) (I think I'm abusing the use of the smiley face)
Hopefully soon we can start going out as a family - we are missing each other at church services. (obviously we don't go to church to hang out - but listening together and discussing it afterwards on our drive to his parents was always nice). Rev. Tiggelaar is doing a series of post confession classes - Kevin went last night. Maybe when she's older we can get a babysitter - scary thought:) Does anybody remember how old their baby was when they got a babysitter for the first time? She's just too young...we'll have to see:)
Anyways - she is beckoning - hi and love to everyone!

Time to catch up on some of the pictures that we've taken. Sunday was baptism - a beautiful day. I had lots of help with Bonita, Mackenzie, Dad, Mom, Julie and Andrew over. Bonita did lots for me!! (by the way, I promise those words on your shirt weren't showing before!!! I just see them now on your pict. Also - can you send me a copy of the picts that you took?) The baptism picts with the parents didn't turn out to well on my camera. So, now it's back to 'normal' life. Whatever that is:) We are not in any sort of routine in this house...I am told that will start to happen about 1 month after the baby is born - we shall see. As it is, we are taking it one day at a time. This little girl is growing so fast! She's been gaining an ounce a day for the last 11 days!!!! At one day less than 2 weeks she has exceeded her birth weight and gained 11 ounces since she left the hospital!!! So, we're doing something right:)
Last night after the family left, Kev took Keira downstairs and hung out with her for 3 hours so Mom could start catching up on some sleep! He's been so awesome - she's going to be a daddy's girl for sure! Anyways, I was only going to put picts on....then write a couple words...I have to go check on the baby:)
